A Creative Ageing event for Dementia Awareness Week.
This fun filled day aims to not only raise awareness about dementia, but to allow people living with dementia, their carers, family and friends to come together for an enjoyable day at The Courtyard!
The day offers a great opportunity for people living with dementia to get involved in many aspects of what The Courtyard provides as a community venue. Carers are able to share experiences and ideas, with professionals and volunteers coming together to network and offer information and advice.
FREE EVENT – No booking necessary, just come along!
A large number of The Courtyard’s front of house staff and stewards have received Dementia Awareness Training which covers the nature of dementia, the challenges those with dementia face and communication. This day is largely made a success due to the way staff welcome and support everybody to engage in the day’s activities.
This event run by The Courtyard in partnership with The Alzheimer’s Society. It has been made possible through kind funding from The Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund.
