Case Studies of past Creative Ageing projects at The Courtyard
Play Your Part ran from 2014 until 2016, this project was our drama based project which used creative storytelling, poetry, and music to create stimulating and engaging experiences for older people in cared for settings. Our mentor Liz Postlethwaite worked with four local drama practitioners to help them develop their practice to support them to engage older people living in care. Each practitioner delivered fun, engaging drama sessions in care homes across the county ranging from days at the races right through to wedding, and even a trip to the circus. Residents were supported to take part in any way they wanted to allowing those with little or no communication remaining to share in the magic of theatre.
